Kem Sains-Angkasa & Astronomi , SJK(C) Sin Kwang,Sungai Petani

Global Link Educational Tour Sdn Bhd, Aerospace Education Service, Persatuan Astronomi Malaysia telah bergabung dengan Panitia Sains SJK(C)Sin Kwang untuk mengadakan Kem Sains(Angkasa dan Astronomi) pada 22hb hingga 27hb Mei 2011 di dewan SJK(C)Sin Kwang. Matlamat kem ini adalah untuk memupuk minat murid-murid terhadap ilmu Sains di samping mendapat pendedahan terhadap ilmu astronomi.
Aktiviti utama kem ini termasuklah Omnister, Delta Kite, Straw Rocket, Flight Simulation, Paper Palin dan lain-lain lagi. Seramai 66 orang guru dan 251 orang murid turut serta dalam kem ini. Murid yang menyertai kem ini akan dianugerah sekeping sijil kehadiran yang ditandatangani oleh angkasawan Negara.


Aktiviti ini berjalan lancar dan murid-murid berpeluang menyaksikan tayangan berkenaan astronomi. Kem ini turut dimeriahkan dengan kehadiran Angkasawan Negara, Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Sheikh Mustapha. Beliau telah berkongsi detik-detik semasa beliau berada di luar angkasa dengan murid-murid. Penerangan yang disampaikan oleh beliau yang berpengalaman amat jelas dan menarik.

 




Majlis Permuafakatan Waris Dengan Guru

Pihak sekolah telah mengadakan Majlis Permuafakatan Waris Dengan Guru pada 19.06.2011(Ahad), mulai pukul 8.00 pagi di dewan SJK(C) Sin Kwang. Majlis ini mendapat sambutan hangat daripada waris. Kehadiran waris adalah memuaskan iaitu seramai 257/287 orang.
Pengerusi Majlis Permuafakatan mengucapkan terima kasih kepada semua waris yang hadir. Pihak sekolah juga berharap waris dapat meluangkan sedikit masa dan tenaga untuk menemani anak-anak menembusi perjalanan UPSR. Akhir sekali, guru-guru Tahun 6 berbincang masalah-masalah pembelajaran murid dengan waris.
Majlis Permuafakatan bersurai pada pukul 11.00 pagi.




Aktiviti Sekolah (Lawatan Sambil Belajar)

Panitia Sains dan Panitia Kajian Tempatan SJK(C) Sin Kwang telah menganjurkan lawatan sambil belajar ke Pulau Pangkor, Perak pada 18 April 2011. Seramai 60 orang murid, 25 orang guru dan Guru Besar telah menyertai rombongan ini.
Matlamat rombongan ini diadakan untuk meluaskan pandangan murid di samping mencetuskan minat murid terhadap mata pelajaran Sains dan Kajian Tempatan.
Segala aktiviti berjalan lancar dan rombongan ini sempat melawat ke semua tempat yang dijadualkan. Murid-murid telah melawat ke Pusat Penetasan Penyu di Segari, Taman Fu Lin Kong, Kota Belanda, Kilang Satay Ikan, Kedai Hasil Laut dan sebagainya.

LDP ( JANUARI, 2011 )

SJK(C) Sin Kwang telah mengadakan Kursus Pengurusan Tekanan/ Krisis pada 29-01-2011(Sabtu). Kursus ini bertujuan menjalankan aktiviti membuat kuih-muih tradisional Tahun Baru Cina.
            Seramai 50 orang guru telah menghadiri kursus ini. Berjenis-jenis kuih dibuat pada hari tersebut iaitu kuih kapit, kuih reben, kuih bahulu dan kuih pang siew. Kursus ini dijalankan dengan lancar dan berjaya.




                                    

Sambutan Hari Guru SJK(C) Sin Kwang, Sungai Petani

Sambutan Hari Guru telah diadakan pada 16.05.2011 di SJK(C)Sin Kwang. Upacara sambutan Hari Guru dibahagikan kepada dua sesi. Sesi pertama diadakan di padang pada pukul 7.30-10.30a.m. Sesi kedua diadakan di dewan pada 10.30-12.30a.m.
Selepas perhimpunan pagi dan telematch di padang, guru-guru menikmati persembahan di dewan sekolah. Acara-acara persembahan murid termasuk Action Song (Eyes Of The Tiger), Karaoke, Choral Speaking (Road Safety Awareness In Malaysia) dan persembahan “The Three Boys”.
Akhir sekali, guru-guru menikmati jamuan tengah hari. Maka, sambutan Hari Guru bersurai pada pukul 1.10p.m.

BAGAIMANA ICT MEMBANTU DALAM P&P

Information and communication technologies (ICTs)—which include radio and television, as well as newer digital technologies such as computers and the Internet—have been touted as potentially powerful enabling tools for educational change and reform. When used appropriately, different ICTs are said to help expand access to education, strengthen the relevance of education to the increasingly digital workplace, and raise educational quality by, among others, helping make teaching and learning into an engaging, active process connected to real life. Another term that is gaining currency is blended learning. This refers to learning models that combine traditional classroom practice with e-learning solutions.

Learning with the technology means focusing on how the technology can be the means to learning ends across the curriculum. It includes:

  • Presentation, demonstration, and the manipulation of data using productivity tools
  • Use of curriculum-specific applications types such as educational games, drill and practice, simulations, tutorials, virtual laboratories, visualizations and graphical representations of abstract concepts, musical composition, and expert systems
  • Use of information and resources on CD-ROM or online such as encyclopedia, interactive maps and atlases, electronic journals and other references

I have been teaching in SJK (C) Sin Kwang, Sungai Petani since year 2000. It is in year 2004, after I had attended the 6-week English Conversion Course that I started teaching the English Language. To improve my command of English and also increase the interest of the students in learning English, I frequently access the internet to search for relevant materials that could be used in my teaching and learning lessons.

One of my favourite websites which I find very useful for our English lessons, especially for primary schools and to improve proficiency in the language is http://www.agendaweb.org.

This website is created to introduce a broad range of language skills in speaking, reading, writing and listening. The students can:
1.      Learn  New Vocabulary
2.      Practise English Grammar
3.      Play Language Games
4.      Practise All Language Skills

This program integrates the latest technology - animations, games, interactive presentations and activities to inspire and excite students to learn English.

Besides, teachers can project it in the classroom and use it as a tool to deliver the goal (or part of the goal) of a lesson. Teachers can also mix the use of traditional teaching and learning methods with these activities. Therefore, the English lesson is more lively, interactive and interesting.
